TSPSC Group I – Nature of Posts, Salary, Age, Age Relaxation

Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Group I Services represent the top-tier administrative and executive positions in the Telangana State Government. These services involve policy execution, law enforcement, revenue administration, welfare implementation, and public governance at district and state levels.

I. TSPSC Group I – Key Posts

  • Deputy Collector in Telangana Civil Services
  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) – Category II in Police Service
  • Commercial Tax Officer (CTO) in Commercial Taxes Service
  • Municipal Commissioner (Grade–II) in Municipal Administration Service
  • Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) in Panchayat Raj Service
  • Assistant Commissioner of Labour in Labour Service
  • District Panchayat Officer (DPO) in Panchayat Services
  • Regional Transport Officer (RTO) in Transport Service
  • Assistant Audit Officer in State Audit Service

II. Salary Structure

  • TSPSC Group I posts fall under attractive pay scales such as: ₹58,850 – ₹1,37,050 and ₹51,320 – ₹1,27,310.
  • In addition to basic pay, officers receive DA, HRA, TA, medical benefits, and other government allowances.
  • These positions are considered among the most prestigious and financially rewarding government jobs in Telangana.

III. Age

  • The age is reckoned as on 01/07/2026 should be minimum is 18 Yrs and the maximum is decided by the Government is Telangana and TGSPC.

As per G.O.Ms.No. 30, General Administration (Ser.A) Dept., Dt: 08/02/2024 raised the maximum age limit from 44 years to 46 years for services other than uniform Services, G.O.Ms.No.31 General Administration (Ser.A) Dept., Dt: 08/02/2024 the maximum age limit as prescribed in the Special or Ad-hoc rules for appointment by direct recruitment has been raised further by 'two (2) years' in addition to "five (5) years" already raised in the ad-hoc rule issued in G.O.Ms.No.60, General Administration (Ser.A) Dept., Dated: 20/05/2022 for categories of posts of Uniform Services in Police, Fire, Prisons, Special Protection Force, Excise, Transport and Forest Departments.

IV. Age Relaxations

The upper age limit prescribed above is however further relaxable in the following cases:

1 Telangana State Government Employees (Employees of Corporations, Municipalities etc. are not eligible). Up to 5 Years based on the length of regular service.
2 Ex-Servicemen 3 years & length of service rendered in the armed forces.
3 N.C.C. (who have worked as Instructor in N.C.C.) 3 Years & length of service rendered in the N.C.C.
4 SC/ST/BCs & EWS 5 Years
5 Physically Handicapped persons 10Years

The age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is applicable for those who have been released from Armed forces other than by way of Dismissal or Discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency.

The age relaxation for NCC, a Person who was recruited as a whole-time Cadet Corpse Instructor on or after the 1st January, 1963 on his discharge from the NCC either before or after the expiry of the initial or extended tenure of his office in NCC having served for a period of not less than six months prior to his release from the NCC.
